Two Vicki Boutin Classes!! ~ Sunday Nov. 7th
All About Babies Class ~ The Story, Monday October 4, 2010
Our first “All About Babies Class” is set for this upcoming Monday by design team member Jodi Wilton.
This is how the class will work:
Each month there will be a gender neutral layout and a gender specific layout (one geared for boys, and one geared for girls).... By the end of the "year" we will have a completed baby album!
This month we will be documenting “The Birth Story”…… this is a gender neutral layout and if you wish to change the title of the layout, that is fine too as it is all stamping!
Be sure to drop in at the store or call 905-732-9994 to reserve your spot!
Here are the layouts:

Introducing our Guest Design Team Member ~ Karen Mercurio
Hi, my name is Karen Mercurio (aka Merc) I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago when my daughter's babysitter invited me to a CM party. I have made so many friends through this addictive, costly hobby. My style is "Simple and Stupid" as I like to call it. I like clean lines, and geometric shapes. I scrapbook in both 12 x 12 and 8 1/2 x 11. My pages are mainly about my daughter, Angela and about our travels.

Design Team Week continues.... Introducing our Technique Co-ordinator Heather Goodes!!!
Make sure you check out our website for the Technique section of our message board and the gallery for all of Heather's creations!! Heather is holding a quilling class this Saturday at the store as well as twice a month has a "Copic Club" get-together at the store. Our online calendar has all the details or call the store at 905-732-9994
I have been married much longer than many of you have been alive! (Insert Big Grin) My children are my furbabies and my pondbabies. Currently we have Matches the cat who is 14, Shadow and Metoo who are 3 year old poodle mixes and too many fish to count. Until I got sidelined by Inflammatory Breast Cancer, I worked full time for 32 years as a registered nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Now I guess you could call me a SAHM.
I have done many different crafts over the years and started teaching craftwork in Grade 7 at the Optimist Boy's and Girl's Club. I started my first real scrapbook about 20 years ago. Yes I still have it. It is pretty basic though as scrapbooking really hadn't developed in those days.
I guess you could say that my scrapbooking style is eclectic. I often include homemade embellishments - quilling, tea bag folding, items made with UTEE, sewing, cross-stitch, crocheting. I like my pages to be unique. Following a sketched design is not my style, I prefer to develop my own pages as I go along. I start by looking at the colours in the photographs and go from there. Experimenting with different techniques really does interest me and you will find that I add a lot of links to different techniques on the Nook forum.
Being asked to be the Technique Co-ordinator for the Nook is the perfect role for me. I hope to inspire everyone to step outside the box and try some new things. Stay tuned for some make and takes at the store and possibly some longer classes.
I have taken the Copic Marker certification class, got totally hooked on these markers and spend a lot of time making cards and tags. Stamping has always been an interest of mine and I find that a lot of my cards have either House Mouse stamps or Stampscape scenery stamps. Our twice a month Copic Club has been lots of fun sharing techniques and new ideas.

Design Team Week continues.... Introducing Jennifer Cassista!!
Please welcome the newest member of our Design Team - Jenn has a fabulous distressed, shabby chic style to her layouts. Make sure to check out our online gallery/message boards for more of her creations!!
My name is Jennifer (aka wustaz) and I live just outside of Guelph ON with my husband Gary and our 2 children Jessica and Ryan. My daytime (and night time for that matter) job is a full time labour and delivery nurse. I have the best job in the world. Scrapbooking is my creative release. It is no longer just a hobby, it is my passion. I lean to the shabby chic style with a few linear ones thrown in for fun. I enjoy altering things and making cards. I have never met scrapbooking supplies that I didn't love! (and my ever-growing stash will attest to that) I make a point to scrap what I want, when I want, and all for me! No aspirations of being famous.... just content to do what I love!
I feel really lucky to be a part of this talented creative team and wonderful community that makes up the Scrapping Nook!

Design Team Week continues.... Introducing Jillian Anger!!
Today we are introducing a very creative scrapper, Jillian Anger!! Jillian loves to create her own embellies, flowers, etc. It's amazing what this girl will do! Be sure to check out the online gallery at our website for more of Jillian's work!
I'm Jillian, a complete scrap-addict since January 2002, when I attended my first scrapbooking home party and I was expecting our first baby. I have been married to my hubby Rob for 10 years now, and we have three beautiful children and a house full of furs that are my main inspiration. Gary 8, Charlie 5 1/2, and Sarah 3 years old. Since Sarah arrived, I have been playing SAHM, but I am a RN who has always worked in Obstetrics. I worked nights while the boys were little, and was still full time mom in the day...that was so exhausting! l am thrilled to be home full time with the kids for now!
I'm thrilled to be a part of this fabulous new DT here at the Nook and look forward to being inspired by all the creative work that I find here every day in the online gallery!

Design Team Week continues.... Introducing Jodi Wilton!!
My name is Jodi Wilton, and I am from Welland, Ontario. I am lucky enough to only be a two-minute drive away from the nook, which is a great way to support my obsession! I am a home daycare provider by day, and obsessive scrapper by night! My family is my life, and besides my amazing husband, I have a daughter, Jordan who is six, Josh who is 4, and our newest addition - Taylor who is only a few months old!
I have been scrapping since 1998, when I was working aboard a cruise ship, and wanted a way to document my travels. Scrapbooking was the perfect creative outlet! Today, I love to scrap my kids, and I tend to go with bright and happy colours! I am obsessed with pattern paper, and making my own embellishments! The Scrapping Nook has always been my scrappy home, and that is why I am so thrilled and honoured to be part of the Scrapping Nook Design Team! I am looking forward to inspiring, and to be inspired!

Design Team Week!! ~ Introducing Sue Peace!!
Hi!! I am Sue (aka Scrapmonkey) and am so thrilled to be a Design Team Member for The Scrapping Nook!! I have been "officially" scrapbooking for about 7 years, I am rarely without my camera and many times when we go out it's my camera bag I grab instead of my purse.
I have always been 'artsy' I guess you could say. I remember writing and drawing stories when I was little, I took art classes and sewing every year through high school, and I have always been obsessed with pretty paper!! When we were much younger my sisters and I used to horde stationary, never to be used because it was much too nice!! (Sound familiar?) In fact I think I still have some...
I love putting memories and pictures together on scrapbook pages. I don't think I have a particular 'style', I just kind of go with the flow, sometimes the pictures shape the layout, sometimes the paper does.
Outside of scrapbooking, I am happily married to my man Tyler...together 15 years, married 12 in October. We have 2 great kids, Robert is 11 and Grace is 9, and I have a stepson who will be 19 next month. They are very tolerant of their Mumma taking so many photos...
To support my addiction I am a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit, a job that can be very stressful and sad but which also makes me appreciate everything and everyone in my life that much more.
I live in Nanaimo, British Columbia, for those who don't know, on Vancouver Island north of Victoria. It is beautiful here, though I would LOVE to see more of Canada, right about where The Scrapping Nook is I think would be a good place to start!!
