December Guest Design Team Layouts - Dee Pankiw

Our GDT member Dee was given Websters Pages Hollywood Vogue papers and trims to play with this month. As well as Zva Creative products and Prima Flowers.... they all worked so perfectly with her scrapping layouts of her son's wedding!

December "Product of the Month" i-rock!!

This month each member of the design team received a different product to use and showcase in their layouts. For December, Jodi Wilton received the i-rock to play with! On this layout she used the i-rock on the chipboard snowflake as well as along the half circle border. Jodi has been having so much fun playing with this fun tool and now she is hooked!! Be sure to check online or in store for the i-rock tool and all of its accessories so you can have fun playing with "bling" too.

Jodi's Creations Class - Monday Dec 20th at 7 p.m.

For all those that a need a break from that Christmas rush, Jodi will be teaching a Christmas Class where we will be doing three single page layouts! We'll be using the LYB Christmas line, and we'll also use the MAYA ROAD RESIST!

"All About Babies" Dec Class - Mon Dec 13th - 7pm

It's "All About Babies" time with Jodi Wilton!! We will be working with the Fancy Pants LOVE BIRDS line! It is AWESOME... and perfect to show off baby pictures! We will also have some fun playing with self adhesive craft paper, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Semi-Gloss Paint, and don't forget that i-ROCK!!

Fancy Pants Home Sweet Home Kit Class by Tara

Check out this new kit using the Fancy Pants Lilac House line! These 2 double pagers are really fun. The class is scheduled for Thursday, December 2nd from 7 - 9 pm. We had a lot of fun with the last FP kit class, so be sure to sign up early as we only have 5 spots available and no more kits nor paper to make more!

For some reason, the colours in this photo are brighter than they are IRL. The LO`s are hanging in the store if anyone wants to have a better look!

Online Crop Fun!!! Nov 12th to Nov 20th ~ Getting Ready for Christmas!!

November 12th to the 20th join us online at THE SCRAPPING NOOK for some fantastic scrapping challenges! Our design team have come up with 15 creative challenges with a "Getting Ready for Christmas" theme to get your scrapping groove on! Show us your layouts and have a chance to win some prizes!

November Design Team Layout by Jennifer Cassista!!

Jenn was given the beautiful Bo Bunny Crazy Love papers and she also rocked her "i-rock" for all the studs and bling..... here's what she had to say about her creation!

"Here's the layout I made with the Bo Bunny Crazy Love line... I loved the pink mesh that I pleated and attached to the paper. I also used an "i-rock" on the layout as well, I even added the "i" studs to the centre of the Bo Bunny flower. The matt on the photo is the die cut paper that is part of the line, I cut it and fit the pieces together. You would never know that it started out as a 12x12 paper... not a mat for a 5x7 picture!"

Tara's Christmas Card Class ~ Monday November 15th

Join Tara (our fabulous manager) for a day of creating 24 individual and unique Christmas cards!! This class is so popular that the first date has filled up quickly, so Tara has added a second date for our "Annual Christmas Card Class". Join her and spend a day creating all of your own beautiful, homemade Christmas cards!

All About Babies ~ Monday Nov 8th ~ 7 p.m.

Hello. My name is Dee (aka Gramma Dee) and I am an ADDICT. Even when not working on a scrapbooking project, my mind is filled with ideas with what could be created. I am a COLLECTOR. I purchase materials just so I can have the option of using them later.

I PLAY WITH PAPER. And other things, of course. I am into this hobby way over my head. Believe me! My once office is now a scraproom. One one wall, I have tools & materials stacked to the ceiling, and I have to get out a little step ladder to reach it! Every horizontal space is covered with STUFF. I have to move scrapping materials to work on other projects.

I am a GRAMMA! Love spending time with the kids. Delighted that they still allow me to enter their private little worlds. They let me share a little of their fantasy world, their hopes & fears & dreams & worries. Their parents are busy—as I was when I was a parent—but as a grandmother, I have time to listen.

These kids share some of my passion for scrapbooking. They love going through my scrapbooks, looking for pages about themselves. They edit my stories to make sure I have the details right. They happily pose for my camera and sometimes even suggest photos or themes or scenes that they would like to see in one of my books.

I am a STORYTELLER. My dad’s voice still plays in my head, recounting all his adventures & our family events, and I want to tell the stories of my family in a way that they will remember. For me, scrapbooking is all about the stories it lets me tell. I choose the photos and papers and other elements to enhance this story. I want it to look good, too, of course, but the title, journaling & photos need to tell some adventure or reflect some mood I believe cries out to be remembered.

I am a LEARNER. I am fascinated with new techniques, new ways to play with new papers & embellishments, stamps & inks, tools & techniques.

I am a TEACHER. I am a retired adult educator after teaching academic upgrading for 34 years and earning a Masters in this field. As a contractor for a couple of colleges over the last couple of years, I have written some course materials, designed & taught employability workshops and courses, and worked in the classroom helping individual adult students solve academic problems.

I look forward to my 3 months as Guest Designer for the Nook. I am pretty intimidated by all the talent here, but will try my best to keep the creative juices flowing.

Niagara Scrappers Class ~ Tuesday Nov 2nd

SCRAPFEST - October 15 & 16, 2010

Scrapfest is coming to Durham College in Oshawa, ON on October 15 & 16, 2010 and we'll be there! It's shaping up to be a wonderful event with classes from some of the industry's best teachers. All of the details can be found on the Scrapfest website. Be sure to stop into booth 800 and say hi!
