Introducing our New Guest Design Team Member for Aug/Sept/Oct ~ Patti Thompson!!

Hi! My name is Patti Thompson. I have been an avid scrapbooker for about 12 years. I scrapbook everything from random photos to people, to landmarks and all things in between. In my opinion, no photo is too offbeat to put to paper. I am naturally drawn to bright, vivid colours, love lots of white space on my page, and can spend hours crafting a “larger than life” title for a layout. I am trying harder lately to document the “story” behind the photos so that each page I create helps me remember precious memories. By day, I earn a living as a Law Clerk, in Toronto, and in my “down time” I love spending time with my family, friends, reading, going for walks, photography, and forcing myself to go the gym. I have some fun things planned for my three-month stint at the Nook, and hope you all will play along so that we can get to know each other a little better! Cheers, Patti

We Are Looking to Expand our Design Team!!!

1. Each Design Team member will receive a kit each month with which they are required to design layouts for both in store (2) and online (at least one more LO and/or card and/or other project). There are no "deadlines" on when these should be done each month, but they should be done within the first three weeks and they can be staggered (not posted all at once).

2. Design Team members will participate in the monthly online crops. That would mean providing challenges (min 3 each) and sample layouts (if possible, but not necessary).

3. Design Team members will post regularly on the message boards. On average, 50-100 posts per month would be preferred. This does not include comments in the gallery. A "regular" appearance on the board is important in keeping it active.

4. Design Team members will regularly comment on projects in the gallery. This is really important during and after crops, but other times as well.

If you are interested, please forward your contact information (name, address, phone number and email address) along with photos of 3 layouts, cards and/or projects you have completed to contact@thescrappingnook.ca no later than 11:59pm EST on September 1, 2011.

The Nook Summer Photo Experience

From the first to the last day of summer, we are challenging ourselves to record our sights and experiences. There are over 100 photo challenges, games and other ways to win fabulous photography related prizes!

If you aren't a member of our message boards, all you have to do is register for the boards, register for the Photo Experience and start clicking away. Hurry, it won't be summer forever!
